How to Design a Powerful Website for your Internet Business

Your website is the main method in which you present your Internet business. How did you create your website? What type of layout do you have for each page of your website? It is critical that you build a website based on the common actions of its users. You want to create a website that prompts website visitors to take action. Essentially, you want them to subscribe to your list and buy your products.

When it comes to website design you need to understand where an Internet visitor’s eyes typically move on a website. What type of images and text capture their attention? Do they read left to right on every section of the website? Do they scroll down past the “fold” on your website? The “fold” is the imaginary line at the bottom of your website. If your website is very long then you will have more text and images below the fold.

Let’s look at how you should design the layout of your business website. This will work for any website that you create.

First, it is vital to understand the eye movement of your website visitors. The eyes read from left to right on a website. This is common sense since we read from left to right. However, the eye movement changes when a website visitor goes below the fold. Why? Think about how a website visitor gets to information below the fold. They have to scroll down using the scroll bar on the right. This is why their eye direction changes to moving from the right to left.

You need to know where the prime real estate on your website is located. It is critical to know where the hot spots are on your website. You will place any information that you want website visitors to take action on in these prime real estate positions on your website.

You should also be wary of working with a web designer. A web designer may be able to build a beautiful website, but it is probably not geared towards selling your product effectively. A web designer may place text and images in the wrong areas. The attention from the website visitor may not be optimal.

Keep the eye movement of your website visitor and prime website real estate in mind and you will increase your conversion rate. This is the advice of Internet marketing gurus that have achieved great success with their Internet business websites.
