When you work from home and you use your income to support yourself or your family it’s important to have that money coming in at all times. Losing any portion of your income can be detrimental to you and it could cause you to lose everything if it was bad enough. That’s why it’s very important to have several streams of income instead of relying on one stream. Your business may be full time leaving you with little or no time to add anything else, which makes it tough.

One way to handle that is to add streams that don’t require a lot of work, if any at all. If you choose the right ways and you use what you’re already using, the work you must do will be very minimal and when you’re working your business full time, that’s exactly what you need. One of the best ways to handle that is to use your blog to increase your income. There are several ways to do that and each is described below.

1. Affiliate Banner and button ads. The sides and possibly the top of your blog are a great place to put banner and button ads. You can sign up for affiliate programs that offer these types of ads to their members and then link the banner or button ad to your affiliate link. Whenever someone clicks on the ad and places an order you’ll get the credit for it. One thing to remember when you’re signing up for these types of programs is to join ones that are geared to your market. You won’t make any money if you join programs that aren’t what your market needs or wants.

2. Sale advertising. If your traffic is sufficient enough, you can offer ad placement for a fee. It’s important to charge an amount that is affordable to your market and justifiable with the amount of traffic you receive each month. It’s also important to do what you can to make sure you continue to market your blog so people that pay for advertising see the results and continue to purchase from you and refer others to you as well.

3. Paid posts. There are a number of programs you can join that offer payment for posts you make. Either they tell you what to post or they give you suggestions and links to include. Some are paid by the post and others are paid by the link. Most pay through Paypal. It’s important to read all of the details and have a complete understanding before you join so you know what you’re getting into.

Adding multiple streams of income through your blog is a good way to increase the traffic to your site and add money to your pocket. Some of these suggestions are easy to do while others may require a bit of time, but all can help you increase your income when you do them correctly and regularly.

Affiliate marketing can be a great way to start your own online home business. You don’t need to create your own product, deal with customer support, or do much else other than market on the internet. You basically just sell a product or service for someone else and collect your commissions. This is one of the fastest and easiest ways to launch an internet business and make money online.

Assuming you are already making at least a little money from your affiliate marketing efforts, what would be some things you can do to increase your earnings? Below I have given you four things you can start doing right now that could quickly double or even triple your affiliate commissions.

1) Find the best products or services to promote.

You obviously want to promote things that are going to make it easier for you to earn the most profits possible in the shortest amount of time. There are several factors to consider in selecting the right affiliate program.

You want to find the ones that give very good commissions and fit in with your target audience. You don’t want to promote a product about basket weaving to people who are interested in learning how to rebuild a car engine. And you don’t want to earn 25% commissions on a $10 product when you could be earning 75% commissions on a $97 product for the same amount of work.

You also want to be sure you choose programs that have a solid track record of paying their affiliates on time. You don’t want to constantly be worrying about whether or not you are actually going to be paid for your efforts. There are thousands of affiliate programs online covering just about every niche possible, so you can be picky about finding the best possible one.

2) Write free reports (ebooks) to give away on your site.

Once you have the program(s) chosen that you are going to promote you want to start on marketing right away. There is a pretty good possibility that you will be competing with many other affiliates who are promoting the exact same thing. One way to distinguish yourself from the other affiliates and make more money is to write short reports related to the products you are promoting and give them away for free. They don’t have to be long — 5 pages or so should do it.

In the reports you should provide some valuable information on something in the niche your chosen affiliate product is about. Somewhere within the ebook you will insert your affiliate link to the product with a recommendation for it. These free ebooks will give you more credibility and establish more trust with your potential customers. They will be more inclined to buy from you because you have given them something of value for free first.

3) Collect the names and email addresses of the people who download your free report.

It is a well-known fact that most people don’t make a purchase the first time they see something. Experts say that it may take at least seven follow-ups to get a sale. That’s why they say the money is in the list.

When you use an autoresponder to collect the contact information of the people who download your free reports you are building a list of potential customers. You can write follow-up emails that automatically go out to these contacts in set intervals to keep yourself fresh in their minds. This will remind them to purchase the product from you when they are ready.

You want to get their contact information before sending them to the vendor’s website through your affiliate link. Keep in mind that you are essentially marketing for the product owners. You only get paid when you make a sale. If you send prospects directly to the vendors, chances are they will be lost to you forever.

On the other hand, when you get their information, you can keep in touch with them for as long as they stay subscribed to your list. You can continue to build a relationship with them by giving them free valuable information, and sending them other marketing messages every once in a while. This will give you the potential to earn more commissions from each customer in the future instead of just a one-time sale.

It’s a lot easier to get someone who knows you to buy a product than it is to sell to a stranger. This is the purpose behind building your list and publishing a newsletter for them.

This email marketing strategy needs to be a balance between providing useful information for free and sending out sales pitches. If you continue to send quality, useful information you will be able to build a sense of trust and respect with your readers that may lead them to support you by buying your products.

4) Ask for higher commissions from the product owner.

If you are already successful promoting a particular product, you should try to approach the owner and negotiate a commission increase for yourself. If they are smart they will probably grant your request rather than lose a valuable affiliate that you are.

Keep in mind that you are a zero-risk investment to the product owner. Any sales you make are extra money for them that they wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. So, don’t be shy about requesting additional commissions from them. Just be sure you are reasonable in your request and make it a win/win for both of you.

Try out these 4 simple strategies and you should see an increase in your commission checks fairly quickly!

Many of the big shot affiliate marketing gurus will tell you they make thousands upon thousands of dollars every single day. You will find tons of sites generously strewed across the net that promise you these kind of profits. Yes, I’m talking about the “Get Rich Quick” schemes. The million dollar question, do any of them work?

Let me just flat out tell you, No! They do not. Now I do believe that a lot of marketers make thousands in a month, maybe even within a week. But, there is no such thing as “get rich quick.” If the famous quote of the day rang true, wouldn’t we all be rich by now? Need I say more? However, you can earn a decent income with affiliate marketing, but not without time, patience, and hard work. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

When you join an affiliate program, you automatically have access to banners, buttons, and other tools to work with to earn your commissions. Many affiliates think that all you have to do is simply place these graphics on a site and sit back and watch the profits roll in.

Now, any successful marketer will tell you that’s a lazy man’s way of marketing and also relatively unprofitable. There is a considerable amount of time and hard work that goes along with success. You have to put your whole self into it to get something out of it.

It’s a simple equation: Patience + Hard Work = Success

Let’s explore with the following one dozen tips

* Don’t put all your affiliate eggs into one basket. Work with various different networks, not just one.

* Write rich content articles that tactfully lead to a call to action with a well-written resource box.

* Promote your affiliate products along with your websites on forums, newsletters, ezines, article directories, blogs, and other social networks.

* In nearly every case, text link ads are much more effective than buttons or banners.

* Be consistent with your marketing efforts. Remain motivated, challenged, and always ready to tackle a full day of hard work.

* Be patient and don’t expect success overnight. Remember, most forms of advertising takes time to be successful.

* Take the time to interact with other successful affiliates on message forums and exchange strategies, ideas, and tips. The idea is to consistently increase your networking connections, and thus establishing a professional business rapport with potential buyers.

* Don’t join affiliate networks that require a fee. Most of those are scams. There are plenty of free ones out there. Always do your research to weed out scams.

* Promote products and services that you truly endorse. If you really enjoy and like what you’re marketing, you’ll be more inclined to succeed.

* Keep a careful track record of where your affiliate traffic is coming from. There are many free web stat programs and ad trackers available for your use. Once you see where sales and traffic are coming from, keep up the momentum.

* Start a blog and write reviews and articles about the products you’re selling. Then start participating and commenting on other blogs in your same niche.

* Build yourself a search engine friendly website as an anchor for all your text links, graphics, and articles. If you need help with this, find a good web designer, it will be well worth it. Now you certainly don’t need a website to succeed at affiliate marketing. But a website aids immensely in branding yourself in the affiliate industry. And the end result is more profits for you.

Whether you own an affiliate program or you are an affiliate, there are things that you need help with. When you are first starting out you may have questions about ways to be successful, how to choose the right program, and more.

As an affiliate program owner, you want your marketers to be successful. If they are successful then you will be as well. When they struggle, you will struggle and that’s not good. You will need to come up with ways to help your affiliates in every way you can because they won’t be successful without you.

As an affiliate marketer have you ever struggled to be successful? When you first started out did you know what you were looking at when you logged in to the program? Did you know where to go to place ads or how to reach out to your target market? Did you know there are ways to email your lists without sounding too SPAMMY?

In this article I want to talk to you about an option that affiliate program owners can use to help their affiliate marketers. This is an option that is easy to do and will help you reach a new level of success.

Have you ever thought about creating an e-book that you can give to your new affiliates when they join? You can upload it to your site and have it be a link that goes out in the welcome email. Your new affiliates will have the ability to download it to their computer and use it.

In this e-book you will want to include screen shots of your affiliate program. You’ll want to include descriptions of each page, how to get there, and what they are looking at. This will help them understand your program. You’ll want to include the stats page, the links page, the graphics page, and the my account page.

Next you will want to include ways they can increase sales. Give them examples of the types of advertising they can use. These would be yahoo groups, social media, articles, blog posts, etc. When you discuss these different options, you should consider using clickable links so they don’t have to copy and paste it into their browser. You might consider doing a Google search and find a few message boards and social media sites that they can join and advertise on.

Make sure you include a letter thanking your new affiliate for joining your team and let them know that you are there to help with questions or concerns they may have regarding your program. You might consider adding a question and answer session at the end. You can poll your current affiliates and ask for their questions or you can include questions that you have already been asked.

When you help your affiliates reach their goals as far as income, you will help yourself raise your income levels as well. Now this may not be the only reason you offer an affiliate program, but it’s probably pretty high on the list. Creating an affiliate e-book guide for your new affiliates is a great way to help them be successful.
