The Value of Branding Your Blog

By: Grace Chen

Harnessing the marketing power of your blog is an excellent strategy for growing your business. With the many benefits of blogs, including SEO and developing customer loyalty, even Fortune 500 companies are jumping on the bandwagon. However, utilizing blogs is not as simple as writing articles that optimize your company’s keywords.

Seeing your blog as an extension of your marketing and branding efforts is the key to maximizing the benefits of blogging. Remember, the purpose of your blog is to attract your target customer base – and keep them coming back for more. With that said, there are several strategies you can utilize to maximize the marketing power of your blog.

What does your blog say about your company?

A major element of your marketing efforts is brand congruency. McDonald’s, Apple, Nike, and the other highly successful global organizations have achieved their status through intelligent, congruent branding. Keeping this in mind, it is critical that your blog stays in line with your branding efforts. Readers see the blog as a personal extension of the company, and thus, it is important that it reflects the same character of your branding strategy.

For example, if you run an online party supplies store that is known for creativity, then make sure your blog reflects that branding. Include innovative party ideas, such as themes, unique DIY decorating tips, and recipes. This creates significant value with your target customer base, while keeping in line with the creative branding your company employs.

How is your blog valuable to your target customer?

Although blogs are indeed beneficial for SEO purposes, the most power you can generate from your blog stems from attracting your target customer. With this in mind, carefully evaluate how valuable your blog postings are to your client base. Put yourself in their shoes; would you bookmark your blog and come back regularly?

One strategic – and easy – way to increase the value of your blog is to create specialized content. Positioning yourself as a specialist and expert in the field not only provides value to the customer, but inherently reinforces the legitimacy of your company.

For example, if you are a recruiting firm, then your blog should discuss pressing HR issues that your clients would find valuable. You could expound upon changing laws, new legal rulings, powerful interview questions, and background check tools. Not only do you reaffirm your expertise in recruiting employees, but you present very valuable information that would prompt your client base to become regular readers.

How does your blog stand out from the crowd?

With many of your competitors utilizing blogs, how can you compel your target audience to visit your blog? The key is to create innovative content that stands far above mediocre articles. While many blogs simply write average, keyword-rich articles for SEO purposes, make sure your blog shines with innovative content. Whether you infuse humor, compelling research, breaking news, or expert knowledge, writing interesting blog articles is the most powerful way to generate attention. Keep in mind that your goal is to create articles worthy of links – ones that other blogs and social networks will want to re-publish – and your content will easily stand out from the blogging crowd.

When you create innovative, valuable content that is in line with your branding strategy, your business can fully reap the benefits of blogging. Leave your competition in the dust as you jumpstart your marketing campaign with the power of today’s blog!

Wrap Up Your Business With A Holiday Freebie And Thank You

By: Tammy Embrich

It’s hard to believe that in just a few short weeks this year will come to an end and the new year will begin. It’s time to look back and see how far we’ve come with our businesses. It’s also a time to really appreciate our customers and show them how much they mean to us…after all, without them, we wouldn’t have a business.

* Take the time to personally call your customers and thank them for being so loyal to your business. Pull out all the stops to be as friendly and helpful as possible. This would be the perfect time to ask what they’d like to see in your business for the new year.

* Send your customers a holiday card or an E-card. I prefer the hard copy version…it adds a personal touch.

* Take this opportunity to offer them a real incentive to buy from you during the holidays. Make up an attractive discount package for your customers. I have personally done this with my advertising ad space and also extended my sale all the way through January.

* Offer a freebie to your customers. For example…I’ve added a FREE text link listing just for ordering my holiday advertising package. Do this with your own business. If you are in direct sales…offer your customers a free product just for ordering from you this holiday season. This gives them that extra incentive to purchase from you. You can even throw in something extra for your customer to give to a family member or to a good friend. This also makes them feel special.

Whatever marketing trend you select for your business, take the time to have fun and enjoy the holidays yourself! Plan ahead and take the needed time off and spend it with your loved ones. This is so important to you and your business as well. At the beginning of the new year (after spending time off), you will come back to your business refreshed and ready to forge ahead and make the new year even better!

Work At Home Jobs would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday. Be kind to one another and show your family and friends they are loved and just how special they are to you.

Finding The Time For Marketing

By: Janice Jenkins

When you are running an entire business by yourself finding time for anything can start to become difficult, and that is just as true for marketing as it is for anything else.

Unfortunately marketing is simply something that you need to have in order to keep your business going and keep it expanding. If you do not find time for marketing you might suddenly find yourself with entirely too much time on your hands all of a sudden.

So what exactly do you do in order to have time for anything?

There are two things. The first and the most obvious solution is to set up a schedule that you know you can live by. Schedule out a certain amount of time for developing your marketing strategies and figuring out exactly how you can best approach your marketing.

This will be the same time that you either design something, or find someone else to design something, along with getting whatever printing you need to get done.

The second thing is to find a way to combine various activities so that you can accomplish two things at once.

I will break this down into a more specific situation to better explain what I am talking about.

So you plan out your marketing and you decide you want to get color posters as a means of marketing. You use your schedules time to design your posters and to get the custom poster printing taken care of.

Well, what you do is figure out the best locations to put them up, and then plan out other activities around that. Let us say you have a store you need to go to a few blocks away from a poster location. Just bring along your poster on your other errand and then put it up.

Rather than take aside the time to put up all the posters at once you can gradually put them up, along with checking on your other posters to make sure that they are still there. You are not having to use very much additional time because you were going to go to that store anyways.

This can be applies to all sorts of marketing ventures beyond custom poster printing. Bring along a stack of flyers when you go places to see if you can put them up on any bulletin boards. Always bring business cards with you just in case a good opportunity comes along to hand out your card.

Once you have your marketing incorporated with your everyday activities you can start to free up your time by doing more than one thing at once. You simply have to market, which means you have to find the time to get your marketing material made. Start multi-tasking to be sure that you get everything accomplished that you need to in order to keep your company strong.

Are You Goal Setting For The New Year?

By: Tammy Embrich

Have you ever seriously asked yourself where your business will be in 5 years?

I know this is long term, but it’s something that needs to be pondered upon for the measure of your success. If you don’t have a mapped-out plan for your business, then how do you expect to significantly drive your business forward? Without goals you lack focus and direction.

Simple logic don’t you think?

But…how many marketers/business owners really have a specific vision of how they will achieve real success and more importantly, when they will be experiencing success?

There is yet just a few short weeks left until the new year. I can’t think of a better time to go over your priorities and contemplate precisely what you want for the future of your business.

Take a glance back on your past successes for this year wether you consider it a good year or a bad one…and try to improve and pattern some focused goals for the upcoming year. Strive for more! Even if you have had a very successful year…why stop there? More success can always be achieved.

If you’re one of those that has just been going through the distorted goal-setting motions, then it’s time to change your mindset, focus, and create a well-organized, well-rounded action plan for real results.

Maybe you want to start an affiliate program for your business.

Perhaps you have been procrastinating writing that ebook.

Or…maybe you just want to write more articles next year.

Decide what it is you want to accomplish. Set forth some achievable goals for what you want and stick with it!

* The first step will involve making sure you are sincerely motivated. If you lack motivation, then you’re predestined before you even begin. If you feel motivated, then it’s more likely that you will actually put forth the work to achieve your goals…and more to the point, it is the ultimate key.

* Your goals must be clearly specific and outlined. You need a precise formula plan to follow…a well thought-out strategy.
For Example: Use: “I will make more money next year by 50%”
Instead of: “I will make more money next year”

* Shoot for realistic goals. Don’t set yourself up for failure by setting big ones. Make bite-sized goals that can be easily sketched into your schedule and can be realistically achieved in the allotted time you set for yourself. Setting unrealistic goals will surely result in failure, and that failure will most likely increase fear of setting future ones.

* Have your goals viewable on a daily basis. Write them down in your schedule. Try writing them down also on some index cards and keep them on your desk. The whole idea is to stay focused. Read them at the beginning of the day, and then again at the end of the day.

Setting yourself up for success should be a top priority in any business. Remain focused and have a clear vision of what you really want. A vision of a satisfying, successful new year. It’s a road map to your accomplishments! Even if you only set just one priority for the new year…your odds for success is that much more increased.
