Content for a Product or Service Business Website

When selling a product or service, your website’s focus needs to be on your product and selling it. Cluttering it up with ads or selling ad space should not be in your plan, as it will detract for your own product. Does this mean you cannot add content to generate a little passive income through Google Adsense or Yahoo Search Marketing? Absolutely not, content is the perfect solution to monetizing your website without selling ads to detract from your product.

Content serves more than the purpose of generating a passive income. Content gives you more opportunity to disperse your keywords and thus increase potential search traffic to your site. The money you can generate by adding google adsense or something similar, to your site is an added bonus.

What can I write about is a common question? Write your own articles whenever possible on your business topic or a closely related topic. Publish them on your website and then make some subtle changes and submit them to article directories for a great free traffic generator. What about using articles written by others you find at those article directories? You can use them if they are targeted, but try not to use too many as they send traffic away from your website. If they add good valuable information to your site, then by all means, use them. You can monetize the page, add your own comments and resource links, preferably affiliate links to maximize your passive income opportunities.

Using content to maximize your website potential earnings is smart. Just because you sell a product or service does not mean you cannot use your website to generate passive income through monetizing content. Adding targeted content to your product or service based website is the perfect solution to finding a simple way to create some income.

Choosing Keywords For Your Website

I want to share a story. Last week I became aware that I was out of return address labels. Instead of waiting until Sunday’s paper came and grabbing the insert offering this item, I decided to look online and find return address labels.

I went to Google and did a search for “return address labels.” I clicked on the very first site listed. When I got there, I had no idea from their front page what they were selling. I scanned the page, did not see return address labels and so returned to Google. In order for this site to have been number one on Google, they had to have used “return address labels” somewhere in their site, but their front page did not have these 3 words listed there. Back on Google, I clicked on the link to the right, figuring someone paid money to be listed there. What I was looking for was the cheap 500 to a roll return address labels. When I got to this new site, the site someone paid to have listed under “return address labels” they had 6 pictures on the front page, all very fancy labels and quite pricy for what I was seeking. I did a quick scan of the page and did not see where I should click to find just inexpensive rolls of labels. Once again, I left the site.

So, it was back to Google, where I finally clicked on a page half way down the page, listed about 50 on Google and right there on the front page, I saw exactly what I wanted. I placed the order.

While it’s wonderful to have your page on top, to be number one, if you don’t have what the customer wants, they will click off. One thousand hits with no sales defeats the purpose of driving traffic to your website. Traffic does not equal sales. That site with the 6 photos would have done better to select a niche market and optimize for those keywords versus a generic “return address labels”

Choosing your keywords is important. Make choices that truly reflect what you are offering. Remember you can select different keywords for every page on your site. Choose the words that best suit the one page you are working on.

Investigate First To Avoid Work At Home Business Scams

Do you ever feel like you know just enough about a topic to be dangerous? We will try to fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from experts.

The following article covers a topic that has recently been of high interest, work at home scams. If you have been considering a journey down this road, take the time to learn more before you start. Yes, before you start.

As you first start to consider work at home opportunities, you have to be aware that at least 99% of the offers you see are scams. Logically, if is so easy to pay just a few dollars and easily earn thousands, why would they even share that information? Here are some of the biggest scams, both online and offline, plus ways to recognize and avoid them.

First pay attention to where you saw the Get Rich Quick offer? Email offer, a poster on a bulletin board or a sign along the road will be a scam. Legitimate offers for high earnings are not posted casually for drive by traffic. Newspaper or magazine ads are more likely to be honest jobs, but not for certain. Take care and ask questions. Website advertisements are everywhere. This is a huge area where fraud is abundant, and a few honest offers may be found. Presume that it is a scam until you have actual proof that the offer is real.

Envelope Stuffing is one of the oldest work at home scams. And, yet it is still promoted, and people do still send in their money. After you spend your money and sign up, you are shipped a supply of envelopes and advertisements just like the advertisement you enrolled with. Now, you will spend your time to stuff your envelopes and you again spend your money to send them out. There is a very tiny possibility you might actually earn a little. But it is a small possibility, and only after someone else responds to the advertisement you mailed. Just stay far away from this scam.

Home assemblers wanted, and you will earn big money doing what you love, from the comfort of home. Yes, we have all seen it. The scam involves seriously over-charging you for supplies. First you will be required to purchase their materials. And you will be sent some assembly materials, but extremely poor quality, and not materials as described, or the expected value for what you are charged. So first you have invested your money for cheap materials, and then you spend more, in the form of your labor. Now you to start earning, all you have to do is find buyers for your items. And to your surprise, no one wants to buy your cheap-quality finished product.

If a business, or program or anyone asks you to spend money to start work for them, just walk away. Every honest and reputable business will deduct their enrollment or startup fees from your first paycheck. There is only one reason any business would not deduct legitimate, reasonable fees from your first or future pay. They have no intention of ever paying you.

If your fraud knowledge and facts are out-of-date, how will that affect your actions and decisions? Make certain you do not let important fraud information slip by you, or take you in as the next victim.

If you base your actions on inaccurate information, you might be unpleasantly surprised by the consequences. Make sure you get the whole story from informed sources.

A variation on the scam that is very common with crafts is that you might be asked to work at home making jewelry, doll clothes, decorations, or toys. Everything may appear honest. You would actually receive the materials without first spending any money, and you would then do the specified work. But, regardless of your skill, care taken, and attention to detail, when you send the completed items to the company, you will not receive payment. The business will notify you that, unfortunately, the items do not meet their quality standards, and therefore, they will not issue payment. If you want to do craft work from home, select your own projects, buy your own quality materials and then market and sell items yourself.

Another common area of fraud involves data entry, home typing, plus medical coding and medical invoicing scams. These types of work at home scams will tell you they currently have high volume of work to process, and they prefer home workers to avoid overhead expenses. You will be offered position to enter data, or type documents, or medical coding and then process medical invoices into a computer. The requirements for the job are only that you have access to a computer. But you first have to do is buy their job related special software. What they do not tell you is that you will also need to find your own work assignments.

This unique, and required, software will appear to be sold through a completely unrelated company. This is just one more deception. Selling you the software was the only reason the work at home advertisement was placed.

Remember to consider the points presented above, and also the time to investigate the online offer. After you selected a program of interest, take the time to type in another search. But this time, search for the name of your program, plus the word scam, or the word fraud. If others have had a problem, most likely you would encounter that same problem.

I hope this information helps you see running a home business that involves you working for one company can be a risky idea. You do not really know whom you are dealing with. Then consider, even with entirely honest work at home positions that do actually pay you for your work, your work is earning money for someone else, and you are only receiving a small portion. By working for yourself with your own home business, you keep the rewards of your own efforts.
Do not limit yourself by refusing to learn the details first. The more you know, the easier it will be to determine and focus on your real goal.

The Work At Home Lifestyle

By: Chaz Brothers

When we’re young, we have this perception that we’re totally invincible and for a while, we are. Slowly but surely however, age catches up with us and all the liberties we took with our bodies begin to catch up with us.

Today’s job market particularly in our part of the country is a young person’ game. I remember working in the factory and you could look in the eyes of the people that had been there for a while and they seem empty and lacking in hope.

Some had already lost jobs and benefits after 20 plus years of loyalty only to be on the fringe of losing it all again after another 20 years in a different place. When you see this day in and day out it really makes you think – will this be me in 20 years? Will I physically be up to the challenge that my job requires?

I wanted more. More for me, my family, my future. Corporate America wasn’t the way to go as it couldn’t give me all I was longing for. I yearned for the independence that only working from home could provide. The possibilities are endless!

We all see the banners, people lounging around on the beach, or sunning beside the pool. Once you get your head out of the clouds and realize that now, you’re actually a small business owner; it really brings you back down to earth quite quickly! To be a success in the work from home industry you must realize that although different in many ways, this is still a job or chosen profession if you will.

You are its President, CEO, Secretary, and on some days, the Janitor. In this business you’ll find the biggest stumbling block is YOU! Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, pretty powerful in their own rite but let me impart this pearl of wisdom - success and failure are on the exact same road, it’s just that success is further down the road. In the end, the only one who can let you down is you.

To be sure you’ll face a lot of hard work. Overseeing the store, calling all the shots, sales, marketing, answering phones, taking orders and the like but, there’s no feeling like the total sense of freedom you’ll enjoy by owning your business.

The feeling of this kind of freedom can be overwhelming as few get to experience it. A word of caution here – don’t let the euphoric feeling you’re having lull you into a false sense of security. Your schedule must be rigid, you must be driven to success, and you must not let your defeats get the best of you. Listen to those around you who have succeeded – they have already paid their dues in time and money so, doesn’t try to re-invent the wheel.

In closing and probably the most important thing for you to have is belief – a belief in what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, a belief in your products or service, and a belief in yourself. I can believe in you all day long but if you don’t believe in yourself then my friend, the race is over before it’s begun.

Keep focused on your future, your hopes, your dreams, and what you want to accomplish. Let the nay Sayers have their piece just don’t let it deter you from the path you’ve chosen for yourself for success is at hand and today can truly be the best day of the rest of your life.

Is It Possible To Build A Successful Online Home Business?

By: Trent Brownrigg

I’m guessing that at one time or another everyone who starts an online home business has asked themselves, “Is this really worth all the effort, time and money?” or “Can I really make money online?” or something very similar.

When I first started my online home business I spent hundreds of dollars and countless hours for many months before I ever earned a single cent. I worked very hard for many hours per week placing ads, participating in discussions, asking questions, building my website, doing link exchanges, submitting to directories, reading ebooks, etc… All for nothing in return. But, even though it seemed like nothing was happening that whole time, I was actually building my business.

Now I have had my online home business for over four years. I make anywhere from $7000 to $10,000 in any given month and work entirely from the comfort of my home computer. Was all the hard work in the beginning with no return worth it? You bet your butt it was!

In this article I will give you some advice on how to start and succeed in your online home business by avoiding common mistakes…

First of all, I want to tell you what an online home business really is. Most of what you will do is marketing and selling. It doesn’t matter if you are involved in a business opportunity, an affiliate marketer, offering a service, network marketing, create your own product, or just about any of the other ways to run an online home business. The fact is you need to find buying customers and to do that you will need to market and sell. I’m not going to lie to you; it’s not as easy as it sounds. However, it can be done and you can do it!

Here are some tips for how to be successful in finding potential customers and building a successful online home business:

1. Get Organized.

Running an online home business requires a large amount of discipline. You probably didn’t want to hear that but it’s true and the sooner you accept it, the better off you will be. Discipline means having your online business schedule and sticking to it. A great way to stay organized is to have a “to do” list each day and plan the next day before you go to bed. Most importantly, get your list done.

2. Find Out Who Your Market Is.

Why is it so important to know who your customers are? Because only then can you figure out where to find them and how to sell to them. Close your eyes and imagine who would be interested in your business. Is it mostly men or women? What age group? What kind of income do they have? What types of activities are they interested in? Write down the general profile of your target customer and do some online research to find what web sites these types of people visit, what newsgroups they participate in, what ezines they are reading, what they are buying, etc… So you’ll know where to place your ads in order to get the highest response of targeted, interested customers.

3. Work, Work, Work

If you think having your own online home business means you won’t have to work, think again! Most likely you will have to work harder, especially for the first couple years. It is not possible to earn a full time income online unless you work your butt off. Home businesses require a lot of self-motivation, self-discipline, and hard work. Your success depends very highly on your willingness to put in lots of time and effort. You have no boss or co-workers to make sure you are getting work done. You have to rely on yourself for motivation to get your work done, and that includes the things you don’t really enjoy doing.

4. Keep Learning

Things change fast online so if you want to be successful you need to continue to learn and keep up with the times. You should always seek more knowledge in every part of your life and that is especially true in the online business world. There are tons of great resources on many websites to help you keep learning. With a little research each week, you can get a lot of useful information to keep current on the internet marketing trends. The more online home business knowledge you have, the more likely you are to succeed.

So now you know it is possible to build a successful online home business and you have a few tips to help ensure you succeed. Now go get started on your business!
